An Invitation from the Mayor of the Town of Vauxhall
Vauxhall, a place for everyone!
The town of Vauxhall is located between the Bow and Oldman Rivers along Highway #36 (Veterans Memorial Highway) in sunny southern Alberta. We are on one of the two main north-south routes from the United States border at Coutts to Fort McMurray. Rich farm land, irrigation and excellent agricultural producers, provide a stable agricultural base for our community. Oil and gas exploration and production also provide many employment, business and entrepreneurial opportunities. Our industrial base also includes a fresh pack potato plant and a facility which manufactures potato flakes for domestic use and export. Vauxhall is known as the "Potato Capital of the West" and our Town Mascots Sammy and Samantha Spud are on hand at the entrance to town year round to welcome our visitors.
We have an excellent K - 12 education program supported by a diverse cross section of talented educators and for several years Vauxhall High School has been rated in the top ten in the province by the Fraser Institute’s annual rankings. In 2006, the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball was born. It is one of the first full time high school baseball programs in Canada. Each year 21 students from the across Canada, come to the Vauxhall High School to work towards achieving their career and academic goals through their love of, and excellence in, the sport of baseball. To date, seven student athletes have been drafted by Major League Baseball teams and all graduates have received a post secondary scholarship to schools in the United States and Canada. We have had two graduates sign a contract with a major league team, quite an accomplishment for them and for the Academy still working it's way through early growth.
Vauxhall is a safe, comfortable, great place to raise a family. We maintain good recreational facilities and have good minor sports organizations supported by a strong volunteer base for baseball, hockey and curling. We pride ourselves on being a diverse Southern Alberta community. The Town of Vauxhall is very proud to be home to new immigrant families from around the world, life long residents and everyone in between. The Town of Vauxhall supports a wide variety of both basic and unique businesses and services. You are very welcome to explore your next life adventure with us. Retiree or young family starting out...Vauxhall is a place for everyone! and we invite you to pursue your dreams with us.
Welcome to the Town of Vauxhall!!
